Created during a live-performance collaboration alongside Luzingo, ‘EGO’ was painted in real time amidst dancers, poets, and musicians. Digitised and edited into an album cover, it reflects improvisation, emotional depth, and dreamlike states of movement and identity
EGO was created in collaboration with Portuguese artist Luzingo for his 2023 album release and live exhibition in Lisbon. The artwork originated from a live performance piece titled Dreams, where I painted in real time alongside musicians, a dancer, and poets—exploring themes of the body, ego, movement, and dream states.
The original piece was painted on a 120 cm clear acrylic plexiglass using a layered, mixed media approach. It was then re-appropriated, digitised, and edited into the album artwork, visually echoing the improvisational spirit and emotional depth of the performance.
